The new year in Warnemünde kicks off with a spectacular New Year’s surprise. “Leuchtturm in Flammen” (Lighthouse in Flames) is the name of this romantic show of lights, lasers, fireworks and live performances that attracts thousands of people to the seaside resort every year.

It is hard to imagine the Warnemünde calendar of events without the annual staging of the “Lighthouse in Flames”. The spectacular event on New Year’s Day has been held at the Baltic seaside resort since the turn of the century. The repeatedly newly created production that includes fireworks, a laser & light show as well as live singing features alternating mottos with which any visitor has very personal connections.
