The highlight of the “Alemannische Fasnet” (Alemannic Carnival) is a gathering of all the Carnival organizations from the whole of the vicinity for the large “Rosenmontag” (Shrove Monday) parade in Freiburg. Floats and colorful costumes can be seen on the streets. People hidden under wild, almost sinister masks play jokes on others until late at night.
